Defence Minister's meeting with the US Chargé d'Affairs in Bucharest

Minister of National Defence, Radu Miruță, had a meeting with the US Chargé d'Affaires in Bucharest, Michael Dickerson, on Monday, January 12th, at the MoND headquarters.

During the meeting, the officials addressed topics of strategic interest to both parties, with an emphasis on the regional security situation, the status of bilateral cooperation in the field of defence procurement and further developments opportunities, as a need for constant adaptation to current and future security challenges.

Minister of National Defence reiterated Romania's firm commitment to NATO's collective security, highlighting our country's active contribution to strengthening regional security both through defence investments and enhanced cooperation with allied forces. At the same time, the Minister expressed his appreciation for the bilateral relations with the US, within the framework offered by the Strategic Partnership between the two countries, recalling the role of the United States of America in strengthening Romania's deterrence and defence posture on the Eastern Flank of the Alliance.

Today's meeting reconfirmed both parties' commitment to continuing political-military dialogue and close collaboration in support of regional and Euro-Atlantic security and stability.
