Participation of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia in the Ministerial Segment of the 7th Global Meeting of the Mountain Partnership

On March 26, within the framework of the 7th Global Meeting of the Mountain Partnership held in Andorra, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan participated and delivered remarks at the Ministerial Meeting entitled "Environmental security in mountain regions - strengthening resilience, cooperation and global stability".

In his remarks, the Deputy Foreign Minister touched upon the manifold global challenges confronting mountain ecosystems, emphasizing their vital importance in ensuring global stability, resilience, climate action and sustainable development. The Deputy Foreign Minister emphasized the imperative of integrating the specific needs and strategic priorities of mountainous nations into global environmental discourse.

The Deputy Minister noted that climate change and natural disasters transcend national borders, stressing the necessity of transboundary cooperation as a fundamental tool for confidence-building, preventing resource-based tensions and strengthening the resilience and security of mountain communities.

Այս համատեքստում ԱԳ նախարարի տեղակալը վերահաստատել է Հայաստանի դիրքորոշումը՝ համաձայն որի նույնիսկ ճգնաժամերի և լարվածության պայմաններում անհրաժեշտ է շարունակել վստահության ամրապնդմանն ուղղված միջոցառումների իրականացումը՝ հասցեագրելու այնպիսի ընդհանուր մարտահրավերներ, ինչպիսիք են անտառային հրդեհները, ջրհեղեղները և ծայրահեղ եղանակային երևույթները։

In this vein, the Deputy Minister reaffirmed Armenia's position that even amidst crises and heightened tensions, it remains essential to pursue confidence-building measures to address shared challenges, including wildfires, floods and extreme meteorological phenomena.

Deputy Minister Robert Abisoghomonyan drew the attention of the participants to the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity, to be hosted by Armenia in 2026, outlining the vision and priorities of Armenia.
