The Nov. 4, 2025, Statewide Special Election is here, and the Placer County Elections Office wants to ensure every eligible voter is prepared to cast their ballot.
Voting in Person
Placer County's adoption of the Voter's Choice Act means voters are no longer assigned to a specific voting location and can visit any one of 17 regional vote centers, which will open as early as Oct. 25. Vote center locations have changed due to this statewide special election - visit the Placer County Elections Website for details.
Sign, Scan and GO!
Our new "Sign, Scan & GO!" process made Placer County #1 in California for in-person voting during the 2025 general. Just bring your vote-by-mail ballot to any open Placer County vote center, sign in, scan your ballot and GO. Voters report they love watching their votes counted and included in Election Night results.
Vote-by-Mail Voting
Voters can also return their vote-by-mail ballots to the Elections Office in person, by mail or by using one of 20 official drop boxes. Drop boxes close by 8 p.m. on Nov. 4; mailed ballots must be postmarked by Nov. 4 and received by Nov. 12. Make sure to sign the back of your ballot envelope so it can be counted.
