Today is Election Day
For Immediate Release
August 11, 2026
Today, August 11, is Election Day! Polling places are open from 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. It's always a good idea to check your polling places because some have changed since the last election.
Bring photo ID
Several types of photo ID are acceptable, including a current WI Driver's License.
Not registered to vote? That's okay.
You can register at the polls. You will need to bring proof of address.
List of Acceptable Documentation
Provisional ballots
A voter who cannot provide an acceptable form of ID will be given a provisional ballot. For their ballot to be counted, a provisional voter will need to bring their ID for review to the City of Madison Clerk's Office by the Friday after Election Day (August 14, 2026).
Results
Results are not official until they are canvassed.
