Arlington, Va. - Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) President and CEO Eric Fanning yesterday welcomed the House Appropriations Committee's approval of the Fiscal Year 2027 Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development (THUD) appropriations bill. The bill includes several AIA priorities to enhance aviation safety, strengthen the certification process, and bolster research and workforce development.
"Aviation safety, efficiency, and innovation are foundational to America's economic strength and global competitiveness - a foundation that is supported by the House Appropriation Committee's mark," Fanning said. "Sustained investment in the Federal Aviation Administration will help to preserve the gold standard set by American leadership in aviation safety, advance the modernization of the National Airspace System, and support the integration of emerging technologies that will define the future of flight.
"The Aerospace Industries Association appreciates the Committee's leadership and looks forward to continuing to work with Subcommittee Chair Womack, Ranking Member Clyburn, Full Committee Chairman Cole, Ranking Member DeLauro, and the full Congress to ensure the aviation ecosystem remains safe, resilient, and innovative as the appropriations process moves forward."
