The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is hosting an in-person "Living with Wildlife: Safeguarding Pets and Livestock" workshop from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 30 in Naples at the UF/IFAS Extension Office, 14700 Immokalee Road. The workshop will focus on practical ways to prevent and reduce conflicts with wildlife.
The workshop is free and open to the public. Registration is encouraged but not required. Learn more and register for the event.
Sessions will be tailored to both hobby livestock owners and commercial operations, with presentations covering tools and strategies to prevent depredation, as well as available resources such as technical assistance and compensation programs for landowners and residents.
Resource tables from partner organizations will be available during the event, providing attendees with opportunities to connect directly with wildlife professionals, ask questions, and learn more about available resources and support programs.
A local 4-H club will have food available for purchase during the event, with proceeds supporting their programs.
This workshop is presented in partnership with the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, Collier County, Defenders of Wildlife and the Conservancy of Southwest Florida.
