National Moon Day at the Museum of Natural History & Planetarium

Discover the excitement of lunar exploration at the Museum of Natural History and Planetarium in Roger Williams Park! Commemorate the historic first Moon landing with a day of hands-on activities, special quest and FORWARD! To the Moon fulldome planetarium show. Explore the history of humanity's journey to the Moon and discover how NASA is preparing for the next era of lunar exploration through the Artemis missions.

National Moon Day Activities | Monday, July 20
9:30am-3:30pm | Moon Exploration Family Fun
Enjoy a variety of family-friendly, hands-on activities celebrating the Moon, space exploration, and one of humanity's greatest achievements. Activities include science experiences and Moon exploration challenges.
Cost: Free with Museum admission. Museum admission is $2 | Free for Museum Members and children under age 4.

1pm | Forward to the Moon Fulldome Planetarium Show
Experience the story of lunar exploration, from the Apollo Moon landings to NASA's Artemis program. Discover the science, technology, and determination that have made Moon exploration possible-and learn what's next as humans prepare to return to the lunar surface.
Planetarium Show Audience: General (children must be age 4+)
Cost: Planetarium show ticket (includes museum admission) is $5/ Museum Members Free.

Join us for an evening walk through Roger Williams Park as we explore the Moon in the night sky and learn about its fascinating features and our ongoing journey of lunar exploration. Please wear comfortable shoes. This FREE walk meets at the Museum of Natural History and Planetarium. Pets and strollers are not permitted.
