Dentons, the world's largest global law firm, announced that Jonathan Gardner has been appointed Global Chief Clients & Markets Officer. He will report directly to Kate Barton, Dentons' Global CEO and will be a member of the Firm's Global Management Committee, reporting to the Global Board.
Jonathan joins Dentons following 15 years at Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP, most recently serving as Head of Business Development & Client Services, responsible for driving the firm's growth, building its go-to-market strategy and developing client engagement.
At Dentons he will be responsible for the Firm's client strategy, developing the infrastructure to better understand both the opportunities and challenges facing clients and looking to serve them in more meaningful ways.
Global CEO Kate Barton commented, "We are excited to welcome Jonathan to our global leadership team and to the Firm and to benefit from his strategic approach to understanding our clients' needs. With a presence in more than 80 countries and with new ways of working, new pressures and changing regulatory environments he will ensure we remain a step ahead, positioned to meet our clients where they need us."
"I was drawn to Dentons by virtue of the tremendous opportunity to enhance the experience for clients across the more than 80 countries where Dentons has a presence," commented Jonathan Gardner. "I look forward to digging deeper into our clients' businesses to enable us to be their voice and to serve them in more meaningful ways - providing more bespoke solutions, to more clients, in an increasingly dynamic global market."
Jonathan joins Dentons on October 6, 2025. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina.
