House Study Committee on Affordability & Accessibility of Georgia’s Legitimation Process to Hold Third Meeting in Augusta

ATLANTA - The House Study Committee on Affordability & Accessibility of Georgia's Legitimation Process, chaired by State Representative Carter Barrett (R-Cumming) and vice chaired by State Representative Teddy Reese (D-Columbus), will hold its third meeting on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 10 a.m. at the Georgia Cyber Innovation & Training Center in Augusta, Georgia.

Created by House Resolution 753, this study committee will study whether the legitimation process in Georgia may be improved in a way that yields it more affordable and accessible, particularly for those biological fathers with limited financial resources.
