Ylijoki Metsäenergia Oy joins the Corewood Group

Corewood Oy and the shareholders of Ylijoki Metsäenergia Oy signed an agreement on August 26, 2026, concerning Ylijoki Metsäenergia Oy joining the Corewood Group. Completion of the transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including the necessary regulatory approvals.

The transaction strengthens Corewood's service portfolio, reinforcing its position as a comprehensive partner for the needs of the forest industry. The services offered by the two companies complement each other, and the group's offering will in future cover forest energy operations, crushing contracting, and energy and side-stream logistics even more comprehensively, among other areas. Maintenance and repair services will further support these operations.

Ylijoki Metsäenergia Oy is a company with decades of strong success in forest and energy logistics. The combination of the two companies will create an even higher-quality entity, in which local knowledge, extensive experience, and industry expertise support customer service across a wide geographic area.

"Our customers' operating environment is changing, and we want to remain a strong, reliable, and evolving partner for them going forward. Ylijoki Metsäenergia Oy's expertise significantly strengthens our group's nationwide service offering. Together, we have even better conditions to develop our operations, invest in the future, and create new opportunities for our personnel as well," says Mika Liimatainen, CEO of the Corewood Group.

"Ylijoki Metsäenergia has been built over the long term together with our personnel, customers, and partners. The company now has the opportunity to continue its development as part of a larger entity that has both the expertise and the resources to move operations forward. Corewood's and Ylijoki Metsäenergia's expertise complement each other well, and I see this as a natural next step in the company's development," says Arttu Hirvikorpi, CEO of Ylijoki Metsäenergia Oy.

Corewood and Ylijoki Metsäenergia will continue to operate as independent companies until the transaction has been finally completed. Completion of the transaction will be announced separately.
