Chinese Ambassador to Liberia Yin Chengwu Attends Dedication Ceremony of China-Aid Refurbishment and Expansion Project of Liberia Broadcasting System

On May 8, Ambassador Yin Chengwu and H.E. Joseph Nyuma Boakai, President of the Republic of Liberia, attended the dedication ceremony for the China-aid refurbishment and expansion project of Liberia Broadcasting System. Approximately 400 people, including Hon. Eugene L. Fahngon, Director General of LBS, government officials, and members of parliament participated.

Ambassador Yin stated that the project represents another significant symbol of China-Liberia friendship and cooperation, which will effectively enhance Liberia's media infrastructure and help strengthen its capacity for self-driven development. As this year marks the "China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges", he expressed hope that Liberia will make full use of the new facilities to promote Liberia and China-Liberia friendship, thereby promoting culture exchanges and mutual understanding between the two peoples.

President Boakai thanked China for its consistent support for Liberia's development, and noted that the project marks a new era in public communication and national development of Liberia. It is another testament to the strong cooperative relationship between Liberia and China. The new facility will provide Liberian people with higher-quality and more comprehensive news services.

Previously, Ambassador Yin and Director-General Fahngon signed the handover certificate.
