These results were presented during the discussion forum "Cerámica de Checca Pupuja: continuidad y aprendizaje", organized by the UNESCO Office in Peru and the Ministry of Culture. Participants included the Vice Minister of Cultural Heritage and the Cultural Industries, Moira Rosa Novoa Silva; the UNESCO Representative in Peru, Guiomar Alonso Cano; the President of the Checca Pupuja Peasant Community, Ignacio Quispe Mayta; the Director of the UGEL San Antonio de Putina (Puno), Freddy Olazábal Salluca; and the Director of the UGEL Azángaro (Puno) and Néstor Villasante Paredes.
The project, funded by the International Assistance Fund in 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, was developed in a participatory manner together with master potters, young apprentices, teachers, and community authorities.
