Columbia, S.C. - April 16, 2026 - The USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) today announced the appointment of five leaders in agriculture to serve on the South Carolina USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) state committee.
Members of the FSA state committee are appointed by Secretary of Agriculture Brooke L. Rollins and, in support of the Trump Administration's Farmers First commitment, members of the FSA state committee are responsible for the oversight of farm programs and county committee operations, resolving program delivery appeals from the agriculture community, maintaining cooperative relations with industry stakeholders and keeping producers informed about current FSA programs.
Each FSA state committee is comprised of three to five members including a designated chairperson. The individuals appointed to serve on this committee for South Caolina are:

Lawrence "Landy" Weathers, Chair (Bowman) - Weathers is a farmer and agricultural leader with decades of involvement in production agriculture, farm management, and statewide agricultural organizations. A partner in his family's multigenerational farming and landholding enterprises, he has served in numerous leadership roles including vice president of the South Carolina Farm Bureau Coastal District, past state president of the South Carolina Young Farmers Association, and former chair of the Orangeburg County FSA committee. His service also includes appointments to the South Carolina FSA state committee under multiple administrations and extensive civic leadership within his local community

C. Wade Atkinson, Member (Mayesville) - Atkinson is a third-generation cotton, corn, soybeans, and wheat producer in Lee and Sumter counties. He has 45 years of experience in production agriculture and more than three decades of specialized involvement in the cotton industry through warehouse and gin management with extensive knowledge of crop production systems, equipment operation, and largescale farm management. His background includes nine years of service on the Lee County FSA committee, including seven years as committee chair .

Megan Floyd, Member (Aynor) - Floyd is a row crop and livestock producer with more than 20 years of agricultural experience on a multigenerational farm comprised of crop production, direct to consumer pork, and value-added processing of cornmeal and grits for local markets. She holds leadership roles including chair of the South Carolina Farm Bureau Women's Committee, membership on the American Farm Bureau Women's Leadership Committee, and prior service on the American Farm Bureau Young Farmers & Ranchers Committee, along with extensive involvement on county, state, and national agricultural boards and advisory groups.

Christopher Yonce, Member (Johnston) - Yonce operates a large-scale farming operation including producing peaches, pecans, and asparagus and timber. He brings decades of experience in farm management and leadership, currently serving as president of the South Carolina Peach Council and active in community and agricultural organizations.
"These individuals, selected by Secretary Rollins in partnership with key stakeholders in each state, are held in high regard in the agriculture industry and are entrusted to ensure FSA programs are delivered in a manner consistent with federal farm policy and in the best interest of all agricultural producers in their state," said FSA Administrator Bill Beam. "Their appointment to the FSA state committee is a testament to their standing in the industry and their dedication to the agriculture industry, rural America and President Trump's America First, Farmers First policies."
