Pay.gov Cloud Migration on June 20: ALL services will be interrupted

☆☆ New ☆☆

What is happening?
Pay.gov is moving all services to a new cloud-based infrastructure.

When is it happening?
The cutover to the new cloud services will occur on June 20, 2026. A full service outage will begin at 12:00 pm (NOON) ET on June 20, 2026. All services will be unavailable for the duration of the cutover. We expect a minimum outage of 6 hours, and the migration may take as long as 12 hours.

How does this impact me?

  • Pay.gov services will be completely unavailable for the duration of the migration. This outage is expected to be a minimum of 6 hours and could last up to 12 hours. We urge you to make arrangements to notify your customers as to mitigate the effect of the outage.
  • For many agencies, changes following the migration will be minimal or nonexistent, with no interruptions to your future collections.
  • Pay.gov services that may require updates at your agency include
    • Activity Files - Agencies that retrieve activity files from Pay.gov will need to make changes.
    • Trusted Collection Service (TCS) cashflows may require updates to settings.
    • Hosted Collection Pages (HCP) cashflows may require updates to settings.

What do I need to do right now?

  • Please test your cashflow in the QA Test environment. Testing your cashflow is essential for ensuring continuity for your collections.
    • If you would like to receive a testing plan based on the Pay.gov service you use, please contact [email protected] and provide your Pay.gov application name, ALC+2, or tcs_app_id (if applicable).
  • Promptly report any issues or interruptions encountered during testing.
  • If your agency automates the retrieval of activity files and is unable to update your processes, we recommend testing the manual retrieval until you can make the necessary changes.

Who do I contact with questions?

  • If you have questions or concerns about the outage, please email the Pay.gov system owners at [email protected]. Click on this link to read the latest updates, including anticipated agency impacts and Pay.gov availability: https://www.pay.gov/public/form/start/1879348974
