NPR+ FAQs

What is NPR+ and how does it work?

NPR+ is a service that provides qualifying STLPR members access to perks including sponsor-free listening to many NPR podcasts, bonus episodes and early access to select NPR shows. Once you sign up, you'll see directions for how to set up these exclusive versions of NPR podcasts on your preferred listening apps.

Standard listening on STLPR will remain free of charge to everyone. By signing up for NPR+ you'll just get access to more from your favorite NPR podcasts.

I'm already an STLPR member - should I have an invite?

If you're already an STLPR member donating at the $8/month or $96/year level, yes, invites are rolling out now, though it will take us some time to reach everyone.

If you think you might have missed or deleted your NPR+ invite, no worries! You can go to plus.npr.org/request_access. (Clicking the "Login" link at the top of the NPR+ page works too - you don't need to access the big donate buttons if you're already a member.) Be certain to enter the same email you have on record with STLPR. You should immediately get an email to login and start using your NPR+ perks.

I don't have a membership, or I need to increase my gift to qualify. Can I sign up at the NPR+ website?

The answer is yes, but. When you become an STLPR member from the NPR+ page, please be aware that clicking the donation buttons at the NPR+ site to establish your membership will route your gift through NPR, and your funds will take longer to reach us. More importantly, all of your download history and saved programs will remain with NPR should you cancel or lapse your NPR+ membership. If you later become an STLPR member, we will not be able to migrate your saved content to your new STLPR account.

The easiest way for new members to join NPR+ is to make your gift at stlpr.org. Within a week you will receive an invitation from us to join NPR. If it's been a while and you still haven't seen your invite link, you can request a new one at any time by entering the email address you used to start your membership at plus.npr.org/request_access.

If you'd like to increase your donation amount to qualify for NPR+, click the Donate button at the top of any STLPR page and look for the "Increase Sustaining Gift" tab at the top right.
