Orlando's first master-planned agrihood-The Grow-celebrated a milestone in Central Florida at their Fall Harvest Grand Opening event on September 26, 2026, welcoming guests to tour five new model homes. The Grow is a 1,200-acre master planned healthy community designed as a residential farm and garden neighborhood. VHB's multidisciplinary team provided land development, planning and design, traffic and civil engineering, and transportation planning services in collaboration with developers Project Finance & Development and Marbell Group of Florida, and homebuilder Pulte Homes.
The event introduced guests and interested future residents to the walkable, socially connected, farm-inspired environment.
VHB was instrumental in preparing The Grow's Regulating Plan, working in close conjunction with Orange County and developers and supporting off-site master infrastructure for the overall development of the community. This involved coordinating with owners, contractors, landscape architects, and community stakeholders to enhance mobility and sustainability. The team also helped masterplan the community with elements of healthy community design, reinforcing its emphasis on farm-fresh experiences and a rooted sense of community.
The community maximizes pedestrian orientation with miles of trails connecting the neighborhood to a multi-acre working farm and community gardens, an OCPS Future School Site, event barn, farmstand, and other nearby neighborhoods in future phases.
VHB's transportation engineering services accommodate future growth, including an intersection operation assessment, a signal warrant analysis (SWA) for the community's main entrance on SR 50, and an intersection control evaluation (ICE) analysis.
"The Grow is a strong example of how VHB's integrated services approach to new residential development helps turn a complex vision into real progress on the ground in a fast-growing area of Central Florida," said James Hoffman, PE, LEED AP, Land Development Team Leader.
