Celebrate National Junior Ranger Day at Andrew Johnson National Cemetery

Andrew Johnson National Historic Site is excited to welcome visitors to celebrate National Junior Ranger Day at the Andrew Johnson National Cemetery on Sunday, Aug. 30.
National Junior Ranger Day is part of National Park Week from Saturday, Aug. 22 through Sunday, Aug. 30. Events and activities will incorporate the 2026 National Park Week theme of "Celebrate America's Story," highlighting the 250th anniversary of American independence and recognizing our shared American heritage of national parks.
In honor of National Junior Ranger Day, park staff will coordinate a special program at the Andrew Johnson National Cemetery and offer a one-time National Cemetery activity for the occasion. The park's Junior Ranger Program will be available for visitors of all ages.
"We look forward to welcoming our next cohort of Junior Rangers to celebrate National Park Week," said Superintendent Aaron Shandor. "We are honored to be part of a National Junior Ranger Day event for kids to explore, learn and protect."
Visitors may complete any of the five activities in the park's official Junior Ranger Program booklet to qualify for the Junior Ranger badge. Visitors who complete the entire booklet qualify for both the badge and an Andrew Johnson National Historic Site Junior Ranger Program patch.
The National Junior Ranger Day event will be on Sunday, Aug. 30, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The Andrew Johnson National Cemetery is located at 121 Monument Ave., Greeneville, Tennessee.
