KOKOMO, Ind. - More than 200 Indiana University students from across all campuses will showcase their innovation at the annual IU Undergraduate Research Conference on Friday, November 21.
Hosted on the IU Kokomo campus from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the statewide celebration of curiosity and academic achievement will provide insight on how IU's investment in undergraduate research strengthens academic growth, workforce readiness, and civic engagement across Indiana.
Patrick Motl, dean of the School of Sciences, said the conference gives students a chance to share their research or creative work with their peers and the IU community.
"Diving into a problem is a great way to connect what students have learned through their education with a real world application," he said. "That experiential learning opportunity can be transformational for students, and I think we should do all we can to make that opportunity available to as many students as possible."
For Kokomo students, he said it's important not only to recognize the work they are doing, "but to support and grow our culture of research on our campus."
He encouraged students to visit the poster session to visualize what is possible in the future.
IU Kokomo students participating include:
The conference is free and open to the public, and free parking is available. Oral presentations begin at 9 a.m. in the Main Building, and poster presentations begin at 10 a.m. in the Kelley Student Center.
Education is KEY at Indiana University Kokomo.
