Video: Fischer on Nebraska Walk for Life

Today, U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-NE) released a video on Nebraska's Walk for Life and support for the pro-life and pro-family movement:

This month, Fischer earned an A+ rating on the SBA Pro-Life America National Pro-Life Scorecard for supporting policies that protect the health and well-being of moms, babies, and the unborn.

Fischer has supported pro-life and pro-family legislation in the Senate, including:

• The Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act to make it a crime to knowingly transport a minor to another state to obtain an abortion without parental involvement;
• TheBorn-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act to protect children who survive attempted abortions;
• The No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act to restrict taxpayer money from funding abortions;
• The Protecting Funding for Women's Health Care Act to defund Planned Parenthood while ensuring there is no reduction in total federal funding for women's health.
• The Paid Family Medical Leave Tax Credit Extension and Enhancement Act:makes the country's first-ever nationwide PFML policy permanent, rewarding employers of all sizes that voluntarily offer PFML plans to their employees;
• The Child Care Modernization Act to expand access to child care across rural and urban communities and help states better meet the needs of working families;
• The Pregnant Students' Right Act to ensure higher education institutions provide pregnant students with resources and information on flexible class schedules, excused absence, and child care assistance;
• The Foster Care Stabilization Act to strengthen support for children in the foster care system; and
• Expanding the Child Tax Credit to $2,200 per child and indexed to inflation.

"Nebraska has long understood the value of life. We are a state where neighbors look out for one another and every human life is cherished.

"As a mother and grandmother, I know being pro-life is more than a belief; it's a responsibility. That means building a culture where choosing life is truly supported - before birth and long after a child is born.

"That's why I'm fighting to ensure pregnant students can stay in school, make child care more affordable, provide tax relief to working families, and strengthen children's long-term financial stability.

"That's also why I successfully pushed for my Paid Family and Medical Leave bill - the country's first-ever national paid family leave policy - to be enacted into law to support working parents.

"As Nebraskans gather at our state capitol for the Walk For Life this weekend, I thank them for spreading the pro-life message.
