NEW RECORD: Ohio Gas and Diesel Prices Skyrocket to New Highs Thanks to Husted-Backed War

September 3, 2026

COLUMBUS, OHIO - Gas and diesel prices are continuing to break new records in Ohio thanks to the Jon Husted-backed war in Iran.

National diesel prices hit $5.68 a gallon this morning, the highest it has been in 2026 and the highest since July 7, 2022. And gas prices in Ohio are quickly rising back up to $4 a gallon, crushing families and small businesses already struggling to make ends meet.

While Ohioans are getting crushed, Jon Husted has also now voted thirteen times to support the expensive and unnecessary war in Iran that has sent prices soaring.

Ohio Democratic Party Senior Communications Advisor Tony Wen released the following statement:

"Jon Husted keeps saying that he wants the Iran war to end, but has now voted thirteen times to support this endless conflict in the Middle East that is crushing Ohio families. Gas and diesel prices are surging again thanks to this Husted-backed war, and Ohio families are once again being forced to pay the price."

While Husted keeps voting to make everything more expensive, he also can't help himself from insulting hardworking Ohioans struggling because of his votes:

  • Jon Husted has now voted thirteen times in support of the Iran War that is sending gas prices soaring.
  • When asked if he was okay with not knowing how long the war will last or how much taxpayer dollars will be spent, Husted replied, "it's not really up to us."
  • When a truck driver asked about soaring diesel costs, Husted brushed him off and responded by asking if he was comfortable with Iran being a nuclear power.
