Accessory Dwelling Unit Ordinance Amendments Listening Session

The City of Santa Barbara is currently evaluating its Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) zoning ordinances to simplify regulations and clarify standards, as part of implementing the Housing Element. As we move forward with drafting ordinance amendments, we are eager to hear from those who have hands-on experience designing, developing, or navigating the ADU approval process.

To gather valuable input, we are inviting design and land development professionals, property owners, and other community members to join one of three upcoming virtual listening sessions. These sessions are designed to provide a platform where you can share your experiences, highlight challenges, and offer suggestions for enhancing the ADU ordinance.

The virtual listening sessions will take place on the following dates:

• Thursday, July 23, at 10:00 a.m.
• Friday, July 24, at 10:00 a.m.
• Tuesday, July 28, at 10:00 a.m.
