EUSDI GoG Civilian Pillar: Second edition of training on Techniques of Criminal Identification
Crime scene management, forensics and investigation techniques were shared by EUSDI GoG trainers in a state-of-the-art facility in Abidjan.
A second session of the training for Technicians of Criminal Identification (Technicien en Identification Criminelle - TIC) was delivered from 25 April - 6 June 2026 to 25 Forensic Technicians, including one female technician, at the Gendarmerie Command in Agban Camp (Abidjan).
Crime-scene management
During the five weeks of the training, the new Technicians grasped the fundamental principles of crime scene management, the basic concepts of fingerprint analysis, ballistic and trajectory tracking, post-mortem examination, forensic report writing and management of terrorist attack scenes.
State-of-the-art facility
The last week of training was performed in the state-of-the-art-facility of the International Academy for the Fight Against Terrorism (Académie Internationale de Lutte Contre le Terrorisme - AILCT) where crime scene simulation exercises were practised on the ground.
The National Gendarmerie will be now able to deploy experts in forensic techniques across the country including to the Korhogo Forensic Platform in the North.
