Getty Images Photographers Recognized at 2026 World Sports Photography Awards

New York - January 30, 2026: Getty Images (NYSE: GETY), a preeminent global visual content creator and marketplace, has taken home 18 prizes at the World Sports Photography Awards, including staff photographers Steph Chambers and Buda Mendes who were recognized with Gold in Baseball and Gymnastics, respectively.

In addition, a larger group of Getty Images staff photographers from around the globe were honored across a variety of categories, including:
  • Al Bello: awarded Bronze in American Football for "Touchdown Backflip"; Special Merit in Basketball for "Eye On The Ball".
  • Alexander Hassenstein: awarded Special Merit in Football for "Champions".
  • Bruce Bennett: awarded Special Merit in Ice Hockey for "Jubilation"; Special Merit in Ice Hockey for "Snowstorm".
  • Buda Mendes: awarded Gold in Gymnastics for "Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships, Rio de Janeiro 2025".
  • Carl Recine: awarded Special Merit in Venues & Views for "Hackney Marshes".
  • Christian Petersen: awarded Silver in Athletics for "Above The Rest".
  • Emilee Chinn: awarded Special Merit in Athletics for "Perseverance".
  • Ezra Shaw: awarded Bronze in Venues & Views for "Racing Through Lava".
  • Lars Baron: awarded Special Merit in Gymnastics for "Under The Lights".
  • Patrick Smith: awarded Special Merit in Baseball for "Game Seven".
  • Richard Heathcote: awarded Bronze in Golf for "Beating The Odds".
  • Ryan Pierse: awarded Special Merit in Venues & Views for "Sumo Royal Albert Hall".
  • Steph Chambers: awarded Gold in Baseball for "Bubble".
  • Yong Teck Lim: awarded Special Merit in Swimming & Diving for "UFO".
