ATLANTA - Speaker of the Georgia House Jon Burns (R-Newington) and Rep. Matt Reeves (R-Duluth) were recently informed by Insurance Commissioner John King that a total of 41 insurance companies have reduced rates in Georgia this year, following the work of the House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Insurance Rates and House Bill 1344, the Insurance Affordability Act.
"Thanks to the work of the House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Insurance Rates, Rep. Matt Reeves and Insurance Commissioner John King, Georgia is leading to drive down insurance rates for hardworking families, drivers and businesses across the state," said Speaker Jon Burns.
"The House Insurance Rate Study Committee worked across the state and across the aisle to make insurance more affordable for hardworking Georgians, and the people of Georgia are seeing the results," said Rep. Reeves. "I heard from a young, single driver that he is saving $1,200 per year and from a family that they are saving $6,000 a year in their recent policy renewal. Georgians can now shop around and save money, while rates are still going up in other states."
Over 3.6 million Georgia policyholders are represented by the 41 companies listed below, which have reduced rates. As a result, Georgia auto, home and business insurance consumers have saved or will save over half a billion dollars this year:
Rep. Matt Reeves will be available for interviews about these insurance rate reductions in person in Gwinnett County tomorrow, Tuesday, October 27, 2026, as well as virtually or by phone at 404-319-0245.
