Joint Election Equipment Specifications and Standards Committee to Hold First Meeting at the State Capitol

ATLANTA - The Joint Election Equipment Specifications and Standards Committee, co-chaired by State Representative Victor Anderson (R-Cornelia) and State Senator Max Burns (R-Sylvania), will hold its first meeting on Friday, August 7, 2026, at 10 a.m. in room 606 of the Coverdell Legislative Office Building in Atlanta, Ga.

The first meeting will serve as an organizational meeting where committee members will hear a presentation from the Department of Administrative Services on state procurement.

The bipartisan legislative panel was established by Senate Bill 3EX, authored by Sen. Burns, during the 2026 special legislative session to develop recommendations for Georgia's next uniform election system. The committee is responsible for evaluating specifications and requirements for election equipment utilizing hand-marked paper ballots produced through ballot-on-demand printing.
