PRESIDENT OF INDIA LAUNCHES BRAHMA KUMARIS’ CAMPAIGN ‘SPIRITUAL AWAKENING FOR WORLD RENEWAL’ AND INAUGURATES ‘GLOBAL SPIRITUAL PALACE’ RETREAT CENTRE AT VADODARA, GUJARAT
The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu launched Brahma Kumaris' campaign 'Spiritual Awakening for World Renewal' and inaugurated the 'Global Spiritual Palace' Retreat Centre at Vadodara, Gujarat today (September 23, 2026). On the occasion, the President also virtually launched the campaign 'Youth for Viksit Bharat: Awakening Inner Strength for Nation Building' of Brahma Kumaris Nadiad, Gujarat.
Addressing the gathering, the President said that today, there is a need not only for economic development but also for human development. We need an education that does not merely develop the intellect but also awakens wisdom. We need progress that is accompanied by sensitivity towards nature. We need a form of strength that teaches self-control rather than the control of others. We need spirituality that connects human beings. She was happy to note that the Brahma Kumaris organisation has spread the message of personal transformation and global renewal, through meditation and spiritual knowledge, not only across India but also to many countries around the world.
The President said that the potential for change exists within every human being. If people believe that changing their thoughts and actions can transform their life and if hope and self-respect are restored to them, they can become instruments of positive change not only for themselves but for society as a whole. She expressed confidence that today's inauguration of the Global Spiritual Palace will become a place where people from diverse sections of society can come together in peace and harmony.
The President said that it is heartening to virtually inaugurate the 'Youth for Viksit Bharat: Awakening Inner Strength for Nation Building' campaign at Nadiad, the birthplace of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. She said that when the youth channel their thoughts, emotions, and actions in a positive direction, the impact extends to the family, the workplace, the community, and ultimately, the entire nation. Therefore, "Awakening Inner Strength" is not merely a message of personal development but a profound process of nation-building. She emphasised that it is our collective responsibility to empower the youth. We have to transform them into self-reliant, peace-loving and responsible citizens.
The President said that self-transformation is considered the foundation of societal transformation. Today, there is a need to align this great legacy with the requirements of modern life. Our goal should be to build an India that is economically prosperous, scientifically advanced, socially inclusive, and spiritually awakened.
