UiPath Launches Automation Cloud™ in South Korea to Meet Surging Demand for Data Sovereignty

Collaboration with Microsoft brings local cloud capabilities to South Korean enterprises, accelerating the transition to agentic automation.

Seoul, South Korea - May 19, 2026 - UiPath (NYSE: PATH), a leader in agentic business orchestration, today announced the launch of UiPath Automation Cloud™ on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform in South Korea. This marks the availability of Automation Cloud as a locally managed cloud in the Korea region, giving customers access to domestic data residency without sacrificing enterprise-grade automation capabilities.

UiPath's investment in the Automation Cloud Korea region powered by Azure will accelerate time to value for South Korean customers by shortening deployment timelines from months to weeks. This collaboration will also enable organizations to unlock the full potential of agentic automation while supporting their data residency and compliance needs.

The collaboration with Microsoft supports the growing adoption of AI agents in South Korea as organizations shift from AI experimentation to large-scale implementation. According to an IDC InfoBrief commissioned by UiPath, around 24% of organizations in South Korea have already implemented agentic AI, and close to 67% are planning to use the technology within the next 12 months.

"Our collaboration with Microsoft marks a pivotal shift for South Korean enterprises, particularly those in highly regulated industries like banking and the public sector," said Won-Joon Hyoung, Country Manager, Korea, UiPath "By launching Automation Cloud locally, we are removing the sovereignty barriers that once confined innovation to on-premises environments. This provides the local infrastructure needed to deploy AI agents at scale and move from concept to production in days rather than months."

UiPath Automation Cloud is a cloud-based enterprise SaaS platform that centralizes the management of all automation workflows, AI agents, robots, process orchestration, and data integration. It streamlines the deployment, operation, and scaling of an automation environment into mere seconds. This rapid time to value supports the entire journey from concept to production in just a few days, allowing organizations to scale quickly from basic automation to extensive agent-based projects within weeks.

The local deployment will provide South Korean developers and business users with tools to build automations entirely within the cloud, without the need for on-premises infrastructure. Key UiPath capabilities available include:

Agentic AI & Orchestration: Gain access to the full agentic automation stack-including Maestro, Agents, Agent Hub, Serverless, Semantic Service, and LLM Ops Audit and Tracing -to build, deploy, and govern AI agents at enterprise scale. AI and agentic workloads integrate with Microsoft Foundry.

Document Understanding & Context Grounding: Leverage AI-powered document processing and retrieval-augmented automation to directly support the complex, semi-structured, and unstructured process workflows that regulated industries demand.

Developer & Builder Tools: Access a comprehensive suite-including Studio Web, Automation Ops, and Data Service-empowering teams to build and manage automations entirely in the cloud.

Native Compliance & Model Flexibility: Satisfy sector-specific regulations by keeping data securely in-country on Azure, all while giving customers the flexibility to choose between OpenAI GPT, Anthropic Claude, and Google Gemini.

Test Cloud: Empower application testing teams with enterprise-ready, production-grade end-to-end automation, bringing AI-driven efficiency to testing natively within the secure cloud environment.

The launch in South Korea marks the continued expansion of UiPath's global cloud footprint, following the introduction of its Switzerland and UAE regions at the end of last year, and is expected to reduce latency while enhancing service performance for customers in South Korea.

"Microsoft is focused on helping organizations securely adopt AI and automation on a foundation of secure, scalable cloud infrastructure," said Willy Cho, CEO of Microsoft Korea. "By hosting UiPath Automation Cloud on Microsoft Azure, we are providing a trusted, locally compliant foundation that meets domestic regulatory and compliance requirements, enabling organizations-including those in highly regulated industries such as finance and the public sector-to confidently scale agentic automation and accelerate their digital transformation."
