Defendant Convicted of Child Sexual Assaults, Faces 650 Yrs- Life in Prison

On September 15, 2026, Michael Jones was convicted by a jury of 16 counts of child sexual assault. Aggravating factors of substantial sexual conduct and multiple victims were also found true.

When the first victim was 11 to 13 years old, Michael Jones committed hundreds of sexual acts against her, including intercourse and sodomy. Jones initially began by grooming the victim and quickly progressed his conduct. When the victim disclosed the abuse, Jones fled and remained hidden from law enforcement for seven years. During this time, Jones began sexually assaulting another child when she was 9 years old.

Jones faces a maximum sentence of 650 years to life in prison. Sentencing is set for October 15, 2026, at 10 AM in Department 12D before the Honorable Kenneth Brody.
