6/19/2026 Update: The work that had been planned to take place on Saturday, June 20 has been postponed. We will instead offer normal service. This article will be updated once a new date for the work is scheduled.
On the night of Saturday, June 20, service will be reduced from two tracks to one between Downtown Berkeley and MacArthur stations for critical rail replacement work. Reducing service to one track will create a safe work zone for crews so they can replace 4,000 feet of rail. The work will begin at 10:30pm and will continue until service resumes the next morning. Riders should expect delays of 20-30 minutes. Additional service impacts include:
Most of the work will happen during overnight hours when BART isn't running trains. The work is not expected to have any impact on BART service the next day.
