The holiday season can be joyful for many people but stressful for others. Shopping for gifts, preparing meals, decorating and hosting family gatherings can feel overwhelming. Taking time to relax and recharge is essential during the holiday rush.
A study by the American Psychological Association found that 41% of Americans experience increased stress during the holidays. Many adults are unaware of healthy coping strategies that can help them manage stress and improve their mental well-being.
To promote community well-being during the holiday season, the Public Health Department hosts the Grand Holiday Craft Fair. The event combines holiday shopping, community engagement and access to mental health resources.
The craft fair features dozens of local artisan vendors, complimentary hot chocolate and free photos with Santa Claus. By creating a festive, welcoming atmosphere, the event gives residents an opportunity to connect with others, enjoy the holiday season and learn about resources that support mental wellness.
The Grand Holiday Craft Fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at Grand Prairie City Hall, 300 W. Main St.
