Update on the situation of citizens of the Republic of Moldova in the Middle East – 8 March 2026

The Crisis Cell of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova continues to monitor security developments in the Middle East through the Republic of Moldova's diplomatic missions in the region.

Citizens of the Republic of Moldova in the countries concerned are encouraged to follow the official Facebook pages of the Republic of Moldova's embassies in the affected areas, where updates on the security situation, local authorities' measures and available travel options are regularly published.

State of Israel

According to information communicated by the Israeli authorities, the current restrictions established by the Home Front Command remain in force and have been extended until Monday, 9 March 2026, 20:00.

Israel's Ministry of Transport announced that, starting 8 March 2026, Ben Gurion Airport will gradually resume outbound flights from Israel. At this stage, operations are authorised for the airlines El Al, Israir, Arkia and Air Haifa, and passenger numbers are limited in line with the authorities' regulations.

United Arab Emirates

The authorities of the United Arab Emirates continue to monitor the security situation, and infrastructure and public services are operating normally, with certain limitations affecting commercial flights.

According to the information currently available on the Dubai International Airport page, a FlyDubai flight on the Dubai-Chișinău route departed this morning, and landing at Chișinău International Airport is estimated for 15:13.

The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Abu Dhabi is closely monitoring the security situation and, together with other diplomatic missions, is assessing possible options for the evacuation of Moldovan citizens in the near future, based on the list of registered citizens.

State of Qatar

The situation remains largely unchanged. Qatar's airspace has been partially reopened, but air operations continue to be limited.
