District Attorney Dan Dow announced today that Tremaine Quincy Tejon Jones (32), Joshua Diante Murphy (31) and Heather Lynne Hunt (32) have each been sentenced to state prison for their part in the trafficking of a minor for sexual purposes.

Three individuals engaging in human trafficking of a minor in San Luis Obispo County in 2021 have now been sentenced for their crimes. Tremaine Quincy Tejon Jones (DOB 05/24/1993), Joshua Diante Murphy (DOB 07/26/1994), and Heather Lynne Hunt (DOB 11/08/1992) were sentenced today to state prison for their part in the sex trafficking of a minor.

On July 24, 2025, San Luis Obispo County juries found the trio guilty of various crimes, including sex trafficking of a minor and pimping of a minor under the age of 16. The District Attorney's press release immediately following the conviction can be accessed here.

At today's sentencing hearing with Judge Timothy S. Covello presiding, Tremaine Jones was sentenced to 16 years, Joshua Murphy to 14 years and 4 months, and Heather Hunt to 8 years in state prison. All three are required to register as sex offenders for their lifetime.

"Each of these defendants sexually exploited a 15-year-old girl for financial gain," said Deputy District Attorney Kimberly R. Dittrich who was the assigned sex crimes trial prosecutor. "This remarkable young survivor was brave enough to come to court and testify over several days before three juries. Because of her courage these criminals were held accountable. She told the terrible truth of her victimization and the juries listened. We are grateful."

"Trafficking a juvenile for commercial sexual exploitation is outrageous criminal conduct that devastates its victims leaving wounds for a lifetime and that's why we work so hard to combat it here in San Luis Obispo County," said District Attorney Dan Dow. "We honor this young survivor who demonstrated strength, courage and resilience during the lengthy process. We are deeply grateful to the jurors and the Superior Court staff who ensured that this historic three defendant trial was completed in a timely and professional manner."

The case was investigated by the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office and District Attorney's Office Bureau of Investigation and prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Kimberly R. Dittrich of our Sex Crimes Prosecution Unit. Victim and witness assistance was provided by Victim Advocate Divina Diaz and Witness Coordinator Kellie Navarro.
