BRAMPTON, ON - The City of Brampton is preparing for the upcoming recreation season, with summer program registration approaching, seasonal amenities reopening and operational updates across recreation facilities designed to support residents' active lifestyles.
Recreation centre hours update effective May 1
Standardized hours of operation will take effect across recreation centres starting May 1, 2026, helping residents plan visits more easily while maintaining convenient access to services across the city. This change will create consistency, reflect how residents use facilities, and support efficient service delivery.
Residents are encouraged to check online or with their local recreation centre for updated schedules . Members can continue to access any recreation centre across the city, giving residents the flexibility to choose locations best suited to their needs.
Greenbriar Recreation Centre Seasonal Closure
Greenbriar Recreation Centre will be closed for the summer season as part of planned operational adjustments. Residents are encouraged to visit nearby recreation facilities for programs, summer camps services and drop-in activities during this time. Regular programming will resume in September.
Peel Village Golf Course now open for the 2026 season
Peel Village Golf Course is now open, inviting residents to enjoy one of Brampton's most accessible outdoor recreation spaces.
Located in the heart of the city within a 67-acre floodplain along Etobicoke Creek, the nine-hole course offers tree-lined fairways, water hazards, sand traps and elevated greens, providing an engaging experience for all skill levels.
Residents can book tee times and take advantage of the course throughout the season.

Summer camps return with expanded programming
Brampton's summer camps offer a wide range of experiences for all ages and interests, including arts, sports, science, theatre and more.
Highlights include the return of the Brampton Honey Badgers Summer Camp Takeover (July 13-17), featuring a live game experience, themed programming and special mascot appearances. Inclusive camp options are also available, including Camp No Limits and On The Move Trippers programs, providing supported recreation opportunities for youth and adults of all abilities.
Registration for camps remains open until the Sunday prior to each camp week, subject to availability.
