AIA to Congress: Pass Continuing Resolution

Arlington, Va. - With the House of Representatives returning from August recess today, Aerospace Industries Association President and CEO Eric Fanning urged legislators to avoid a government shutdown and maintain funding for critical government programs by passing a continuing resolution.

"The Aerospace Industries Association urges the House of Representatives to take up and pass the continuing resolution this week to prevent a government shutdown ahead of the September 30 deadline," Fanning said. "A shutdown would create unnecessary disruption and uncertainty at a time of growing security challenges and intense global economic competition. Passing the CR will provide the stability needed to keep critical programs moving, support our nation's aerospace and defense workforce, and give Congress the time necessary to complete final fiscal year 2027 appropriations bills."
