The Atlantic Companies Begins Transformation of Historic Berkeley Park Building into The Berkeley

Approximately 21,400 square feet of commercial space is now under construction and expected to deliver in mid-2027

Construction is underway on The Berkeley, The Atlantic Companies' adaptive reuse development at 1500 Northside Drive. The newly-named project will transform the historic former Myers Carpet building into a retail-anchored commercial destination directly connected to the Atlanta Beltline in the Berkeley Park neighborhood. SRS Real Estate Partners' Brittany McCall is leading retail leasing for the project. Paul Reese of Capital Real Estate Group is leading office leasing.

Renovations began in August 2026 and are expected to be completed in mid-2027. The project will preserve the building's original character while introducing modern commercial space designed to connect seamlessly with the Beltline.

The renovated building will include approximately 21,400 square feet of commercial space, including approximately 17,400 square feet for retail, food and beverage and showroom uses, as well as approximately 4,000 square feet of creative office space. A covered breezeway will bisect the building, creating a common area with direct access to the Beltline and the property's commercial storefronts.

The property's new brand identity is anchored by the iconic silo along Northside Drive, which has been transformed into The Berkeley's visual mark in partnership with Monday Night Brewing, who opened its popular The Grove location on-site last year. Drawing inspiration from the character, landmarks and symbols of Berkeley Park, the identity gives the project a distinctive sense of place while providing a common thread across its diverse mix of tenants.

The Berkeley builds on the momentum of Monday Night Brewing's The Grove, which opened on the property in August 2025. The segment of the Atlanta Beltline running through the property also opened that month, establishing a direct trail connection between The Grove, The Berkeley and the surrounding area.

Momentum along the corridor continues to build. Construction is also beginning this month on the Atlanta Beltline's nearly one-mile Northwest Trail Segment 3B, which will extend from The Berkeley to Tanyard Creek Park and include a new pedestrian bridge over Northside Drive. Nearby, popular Atlanta restaurant Ruby Chow's plans to open its second location at 739 Trabert Ave. in summer 2027, adding to the mix of dining and retail offerings taking shape in the area.

The 2.7-acre property is located along a critical stretch of the Beltline's Northwest Trail, providing access between Northside Drive and Howell Mill Road. The Atlantic Companies acquired the site in January 2023 and worked closely with Atlanta Beltline, Inc. to integrate the trail through the property.

The project team includes Gensler as architect, Kimley-Horn as civil engineer, Peter Constructive as general contractor, Westbridge as development consultant, and Good Company as branding consultant.
