Cal Cities seeking proposals for marquee advocacy event, City Leaders Summit

By Cal Cities Education Staff

Cal Cities is accepting proposals for the City Leaders Summit. Taking place April 22-24 in Sacramento, the summit allows city officials to influence state policy decisions and gain top-notch leadership skills.

During the event, city leaders will spend a full day meeting with legislators to discuss the most pressing issues facing their cities. The summit also includes two days of in-depth educational sessions on local solutions to statewide problems.

Cal Cities is looking for thorough, thoughtful, and complete proposals that tell how your session can help elected city officials improve their communities, leadership abilities, and policy knowledge. Submissions from any individual, group, business, or organization on any topic are welcome.

The summit offers panel discussions, speed sessions, facilitated discussions, and opportunities for keynote speakers. Sessions may not include sales, commercialism, or product promotion of any kind. Proposals must be submitted online through the session proposal form by Friday, Nov. 7.

Members have indicated an interest in a range of topics, including:

  • Working with county, state, and federal counterparts
  • Water policy and the future of water availability
  • Cannabis
  • Housing
  • Infrastructure
  • Other emerging issues and cutting-edge solutions for the top challenges facing cities.
Member-driven and member-led programming is a cornerstone of Cal Cities' educational activities. More than 95% of all programming comes directly from Cal Cities' open calls for proposals. For more information, contact Event Program Manager Kayla Boutros.
