WASHINGTON, D.C. - AdvaMed today announced that Juan Carlos "JC" Scott has been appointed Chief Strategy Officer and Executive Director of AdvaMed Accel, a newly created leadership position focused on accelerating engagement with emerging medical technology companies and strengthening AdvaMed's role at the center of the innovation ecosystem.
JC brings extensive experience in health care policy, advocacy, and association leadership. He previously served as AdvaMed's Chief Advocacy Officer and for the last seven years served as Chief Executive Officer of the Pharmaceutical Care Management Association (PCMA).
In his new role, JC will join AdvaMed's executive leadership team and lead AdvaMed's Accel division, which represents nearly 500 innovative, early-stage medtech companies. He will focus on deepening AdvaMed's engagement with emerging and growth-stage medtech companies, investors, strategic partners, and other innovation ecosystem stakeholders while advancing initiatives that strengthen member value and reinforce AdvaMed's leadership across the medical technology sector.
Working directly with the AdvaMed Accel board of directors, JC will help expand the organization's support for entrepreneurs, innovators, and scaling companies, while strengthening relationships across the investment community and broader health care ecosystem.
"JC is an accomplished association leader and a respected voice across health care," said Scott Whitaker, president and CEO of AdvaMed. "His experience, relationships, and understanding of the innovation ecosystem will help us elevate AdvaMed Accel as the home for emerging medtech companies and investors, and further position AdvaMed as the leading advocate for medical technology innovation."
Prior to joining PCMA, JC served in senior leadership roles at AdvaMed, where he helped advance policy priorities and strengthen the association's advocacy efforts on behalf of the medical technology industry.
