Egor Yazikov, Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Geology at the TPU Engineering School of Natural Resources, was awarded the honorary title "Honored Worker of Higher Education of the Russian Federation".
The relevant decree of the President of the Russian Federation "On State Awards of the Russian Federation" (No. 176 dated 20.03.2026) has been published on the official website.
The honorary title was awarded for his achievements in research activity and many years of dedicated work.
Egor Grigorievich Yazikov was born in 1955 in the village of Babka, Kletnyansky district, Bryansk region. In 1977, he graduated from the Geological Exploration Faculty of Tomsk Polytechnic Institute (now TPU - editor's note), having qualified as a mining engineer - geologist majoring in geological surveying and exploration of mineral deposits. In 1978-1981 he took the postgraduate training course at TPU, in 1983 he passed PhD defense. In 1987, Yazikov was awarded the academic title of associate professor. He defended his doctoral thesis in 2006.
He has been working at Tomsk Polytechnic University since his graduation. He held the positions of an engineer in the research sector, assistant, associate professor, Deputy Dean of the Interdisciplinary Institute for Advanced Training and Retraining at TPU, Director of the Center for Environmental Assessment and Monitoring at Tomsk Polytechnic University, Director of the Institute of Geology and Oil and Gas Engineering, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at TPU, Deputy Vice-Rector for Educational and International Affairs. In 2007, he was elected Professor of the Department of Geoecology and Geochemistry at the Institute of Geology and Oil and Gas Engineering of TPU. Since 2018, he has been a Professor at the Department of Geology at the TPU Engineering School of Natural Resources.
Since 2018, he has been the President of the TPU Alumni Association. Member of Doctoral Dissertation Councils, member of the Academic Council of TPU, full member of the All-Russian Mineralogical Society.
The main scientific activity is related to the research in the field of ecological and geochemical monitoring. Such studies led by Egor Yazikov are conducted for the Tomsk and Kemerovo regions, the Altai Territory and Khakassia. He manages research work of students and schoolchildren.
He is the author and joint author of more than 114 scientific papers, 2 monographs, 5 textbooks, 4 patents, and 1 copyright certificate.
He was awarded the commemorative badge "300 years of the Mining and Geological Service of Russia", the jubilee medal "400 years of the city of Tomsk", the badge "Geological Service of Russia", the silver medal "Order of Merit to the Tomsk Polytechnic University". He was listed in the TPU Gallery of Honor in 2007 and 2016.
