City of Peoria Launches “Thankful Hearts, Full Carts” Food Drive
Staff at the City of Peoria has launched "Thankful Hearts, Full Carts," a food drive to support local families ahead of Thanksgiving. The public can join city staff in the food drive on Friday, November 22, 2025, by dropping off items at the Peoria Police Department Headquarters.
All donations will be shared with three local organizations that serve families in need: Sophia's Kitchen, East Bluff Community Center, and Friendship House.
The public is invited to take part in a drive-thru drop-off event:
Public Drive-Thru Food Drop-Off
Date: Friday, November 22, 2025
Time: 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Location: Peoria Police Department Headquarters, 600 SW Adams Street
Residents are encouraged to bring items such as rice, pasta, cereal, peanut butter, pancake mix, canned vegetables, soup, and canned proteins.
Donations collected from the community and City staff will be delivered to partner pantries for distribution before Thanksgiving.
