Lane Closures Planned On I-80 Eastbound and Westbound Near Appian Way Overcrossing in Contra Costa County

Contra Costa County - Caltrans District 4 will continue with scheduled maintenance and improvements at the Appian Way and Cummings Skyway overcrossings. Caltrans will conduct alternating lane closures on both eastbound and westbound I-80, near the Appian Way overcrossing to Pinole Valley Road to continue Wednesday, June 10, 2026, through Friday, June 12, 2026, 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.

Please see below for key closure details and timelines:

Appian Way Overcrossing - Lane Closures on EB and WB I-80/ EB I-80 On-ramp

  • Start Date: Tuesday, June 9, 2026, through Friday, June 12, 2026
  • Closure Hours: 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM, Nightly
  • Impact: Alternating Lane closures on westbound and eastbound I-80 for overhead work at the Appian Way Overcrossing. EB I-80 on ramp from Appian Way closed.

*Please note additional, ramp and shoulder closures are scheduled for the week of June 15th near the Appian Way overcrossing as part of ongoing construction activities.

Cummings Skyway Overcrossing

  • Start Date: Continues June 10, 2026
  • Hours: Daytime and overnight work
  • Impact: No lane closures at this time.
