Congresswoman Pou Proudly Votes for Ukraine Support Act

WASHINGTON, DC - Congresswoman Nellie Pou (D-NJ-09) tonight voted in favor of H.R. 2913, the Ukraine Support Act, which would provide fresh funding to Ukraine in its fight for survival and help impose long-sought sanctions on Russia for its cruel and illegal war.

"I voted proudly tonight to send vital aid to Ukraine and provide new tools to sanction Putin's vicious regime," said Congresswoman Pou. "For over four long years, the Ukrainian people have fought for their survival and against all odds have not just survived, but are now winning. Ukraine's bravery in the face of the worst savagery and loss of life since World War II is one of the most important stories of our lifetime.

"I want to point out that this critical legislation was introduced over one year ago. Inexplicably, almost criminally, it has been held up by the administration and majority. These delays have denied Ukraine essential aid and given Vladimir Putin a green light to continue his mass murder. This bill should have been passed many months ago. Now the delays must end, the Senate must move, and this must become law to help Ukraine finish the job and reclaim their entire country. Slava Ukraini!"
