Lobit Park to be Closed Starting Oct. 13

Starting Monday, October 13, Elva Lobit Park-located at 1901 FM 646-will be closed so construction can begin on a two-phase project to improve and renovate the park.

Phase one will add a new amenity-six pickleball courts-and improve existing amenities including upgrading the baseball field, repairing a pedestrian bridge, improving drainage, and installing new security lighting. Phase two upgrades include a nearly 1,800 square foot picnic pavilion, a fitness course, multi-purpose athletic fields, added restrooms, additional parking, and a hiking trail.

The park will reopen at the end of phase one, which is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2026.

The current plan is for the park to remain open during phase two of the renovation project.
