AUGUSTA, ME - January 22, 2026 - Central Maine Power (CMP), a subsidiary of Avangrid, transformed its Augusta headquarters into a real-life Super Nintendo game as employees and Make-A-Wish Maine surprised seven-year-old Khloe Drew and her family with a dream trip to Super Nintendo World in Orlando, Florida. Drew was diagnosed with leukemia in 2024.

"Central Maine Power has long been one of MakeAWish Maine's most dedicated champions. Time and again, their team shows up for our wish kids with a level of heart, care, and creativity that turns every moment into a lasting memory," said Brian Franks, Make-A-Wish Maine CEO and President. "Their commitment is a genuine investment in hope, strength, and joy for the children we serve. As a recipient of our prestigious WishMaker Award, CMP continues to embody what it means to be a true partner in the power of a wish."

On January 16, 2026, a limo and several CMP bucket trucks surprised Khloe and her sister at school and brought the family to CMP's Augusta headquarters for the send-off celebration. Employees lined the hallway as Khloe rode in a Princess Peach-themed Mario Kart, and she was later presented with a giant ticket announcing that she and her family would be leaving for her dream trip the very next day. Khloe and her family are now visiting Super Nintendo World and SeaWorld in Orlando, Florida.

"The entire CMP team was thrilled to celebrate Khloe and transform our office into a reallife Mario Brothers adventure," said Linda Ball, President and CEO of CMP. "Dozens of employees lined the hallway with streamers and confetti, some even dressed as Mario and Luigi, all to create joyful memories for Khloe and her family as they navigate this health journey. Khloe's mom is also a member of the CMP family so standing with her during moments like this is at the heart of who we are. At CMP, we are proud to be part of our communities. We are committed not only to providing safe and reliable power but also to shining a light on the bright moments that bring us together."

This celebration is part of CMP's support of Make-A-Wish Maine's Share the Power of a Wish telethon taking place in February. CMP is a 20-year partner of Make-A-Wish Maine and was honored with the 2025 WishMaker Award.
