Track Work Bus Bridge and Green Line Cancellation Alert: Free buses replace trains between Union City and Warm Springs/South Fremont on five weekends between July and September[...]

BART crews will be in the trackway near Fremont Station to replace an interlocking, which is a critical portion of the system that allows trains to safely move from one route to another. To ensure a safe workspace for the team, there will be no train service between Union City and Warm Springs/South Fremont on the following weekends:

*August 15-16
*August 29-30
*September 12-13
*September 26-27

Free buses provided by AC Transit will move riders between Union City, Fremont, and Warm Springs/South Fremont stations. Riders can expect delays ranging from 30 to 40 minutes through the area on shutdown weekends. The work will also require us to shut down the Green Line for the weekend. The bus bridge will feature direct service between Union City and Warm Springs/South Fremont as well as hopper service that will also stop at Fremont Station. Fremont Station will offer no train service but will remain open for buses.

There will be an Orange Line train making loops between Warm Springs/South Fremont and Berryessa/North San Jose. Northbound departure times will be adjusted ten minutes earlier. The last two evening trips from Berryessa/North San Jose normally scheduled for 11:38pm and 11:49pm will be canceled. Riders should instead use the train that departs at 11:10pm. Northbound trains dispatching from Berryessa and Union City Stations will differ from the current schedule. Riders coming from the bus bridge and headed for San Francisco should plan to transfer from an Orange Line train to a Blue Line Daly City train at Bay Fair Station. The Blue, Red, and Yellow lines will run normal service. The Orange Line trains will run every 20 minutes but with the bus bridge. Orange and Blue line trains will be extended from six to eight cars.

*Please note it was extremely difficult to schedule these five weekends as there are many events taking place in the Bay Area this time of the year and we had to work around FIFA World Cup. We know there are events occurring on some of these weekends and we are sorry. We worked very hard to limit the number of events impacted.
