BOROUGH PRESIDENT GIBSON`S STATEMENT IN RESPONSE TO THEVIOLENCE THAT OCCURRED AFTER THE BRONX DOMINICAN DAY PARADE

"What should have been an afternoon of celebrating the culture and pride of our diverse Borough turned into a horrific tragedy with two shootings and a stabbing that left multiple people injured. Our hearts and prayers go out to those parade-goers and participants harmed in these horrific incidents. This senseless violence does not represent who we are and has no place in our borough. Our office looks forward to convening a meeting with our elected officials, city agencies, and parade organizers to discuss strategies moving forward. We must work together to ensure that our parades and festivals are enjoyable and safe for all participants."
