The City of Garden Grove will begin nighttime storm drain repairs at the intersection of Knott Street and Lampson Avenue on Sunday, March 29, 2026. Repair work is expected to continue through June 2026 and will result in traffic restrictions in the area.
During construction, northbound Knott Street will be reduced to one lane and Lampson Avenue will be closed to through traffic at the intersection. Work will take place from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday night through Friday morning, to reduce impacts on daytime traffic.
No parking will be allowed in the construction zone during work hours. Access to nearby businesses and residences will be maintained at all times.
The project includes installation of storm drain pipe, asphalt paving, traffic striping and pavement markers.
On March 10, 2026, the Garden Grove City Council awarded a contract to Duffy General Engineering Inc. of Menifee. The project is included in the City's 2025-26 Capital Improvement Program budget and is funded by Measure M2 Fairshare, Gas Tax (SB1) and drainage fee funds.
