Director-General of European Affairs Department meets with the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Thailand
On 8 October 2025, Mrs. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, had a discussion with H.E. Mr. BoĊĦtjan Malovrh, Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Thailand, with residence in Beijing, on the occasion of presenting his Credentials to His Majesty the King.
Both sides discussed ways to further strengthen Thailand - Slovenia relations, particularly in trade and investment, logistics connectivity and potential partnerships with the Port of Koper, as well as enhancing cooperation within multilateral frameworks, especially in the United Nations. The Director-General provided an update on the situation along the Thailand - Cambodia border and developments in regional security. Both sides also discussed key issues, including the entry into force of the Short-Stay Visa Exemption Agreement for holders of Diplomatic and Official Passports, progress on the Thai - EU Free Trade Agreement negotiations, Thailand's proposal for Schengen visa exemption for Thai ordinary passport holders, and efforts to promote Thailand - EU cooperation in addressing global challenges.
The Director-General also congratulated the Republic of Slovenia on the successful hosting of the Bled Strategic Forum 2025, held in Bled during 1 - 2 September 2025, and was honoured to participate as a panelist. This reflects Thailand's recognition of the importance of its relations with the Republic of Slovenia and its commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
