Head of the Chinese Mission to the African Union Ambassador Jiang Feng Meets with the Commissioner for ESTI of the AU Commission

On March 4th, H.E. Amb. Jiang Feng, Head of Mission of China to the African Union, met with H.E. Prof. Gaspard Banyankimbona, the Commissioner for Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (ESTI) of the AU Commission. Counsellor He Kaihui was present.

Amb. Jiang congratulated on the successful conclusion of the 39th African Union Summit, noting that year of water sustainability had been adopted as an annual theme, and congratulated Burundi on assuming the chairmanship of the African Union for 2026. He expressed his commitment to work closely with the Commissioner to follow up the consensus reached by the leaders of China and the African Union and at the 9th China-African Union Strategic Dialogue. He further emphasized the importance of jointly developing a blueprint for pragmatic cooperation between China and the African Union in science, technology, and education, thereby contributing to Africa's sustainable development. 

On behalf of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Prof. Gaspard Banyankimbona sent again a New Year greeting to the Chinese people. He held in-depth exchanges with Amb. Jiang on deepening cooperation mechanisms in the fields of science, technology, and education, and discussed strengthening collaboration in areas such as AI, scientific diplomacy, and vocational education.
