NCC Group backs UK Government’s Cyber Growth Action Plan

NCC Group welcomes the publication of the UK Government's Cyber Growth Action Plan, which sets out a bold and ambitious vision for the future of the UK's cyber ecosystem.

As a global cyber security and resilience leader headquartered in Manchester, NCC Group is proud to have played a role in shaping the Plan, hosting one of the stakeholder workshops that informed its development. We commend the Government's recognition of cyber security as both a critical enabler of resilient economic growth and a frontier industry in its own right.

The Plan's 24 recommendations reflect the urgent need to foster a thriving cyber culture, empower regional leadership, and invest in the UK's cyber strengths. We particularly welcome proposals to:

• Promote inclusive and positive narratives around cyber careers and skills development.
• Address barriers to entry, including the impact of legacy legislation such as the Computer Misuse Act 1990.
• Establish regional Cyber Growth Centres to drive innovation and collaboration across the UK.
