From Intern to Investments Leader: Peyton Green Named Partner at Traction Capital

Traction Capital is excited to announce Peyton Green has been named Partner, marking a significant milestone in his journey with the firm. Peyton's story is one of grit, growth and unwavering commitment to entrepreneurship, both within Traction and in the broader Minnesota startup ecosystem.

Peyton joined the Traction Capital team as its first employee while finishing his degree at the University of Minnesota Duluth. He began as an intern, taking on everything from market research to painting the office walls, quite literally helping build the foundation of what Traction Capital is today. His early research played a pivotal role in Traction's first investment, Kwikly, a company that has since earned a place on the Inc 5000 list for three consecutive years.

After completing his internship, Peyton officially joined the team as an Analyst, working alongside Founder and Managing Partner Shane Erickson. Like any startup, the early days required a level of scrappiness. For Peyton, this meant helping in all areas of the business including investor relations and processing documents during the raise for Fund I, while simultaneously sourcing and evaluating hundreds of potential investments. Over the past 5 years, he has continued to rise through the ranks.

Today, Peyton plays a critical role as a Strategic Growth Partner and VP of Investment, leading deals, mentoring founders, and helping portfolio companies scale. He is instrumental in self-implementing EOS® across Traction's portfolio, guiding entrepreneurs through the framework to drive clarity, accountability, and growth. His deep involvement in the capital raise side of the business has also been transformative, resulting in millions of dollars in investments through SPVs into portfolio companies.

Beyond his work at Traction, Peyton is an active leader in the Minnesota startup ecosystem, dedicating his time to pitch competitions, universities, accelerators, and other entrepreneurial initiatives. His ability to connect with and support founders has made a lasting impact on countless businesses in the region.
